Q: You have an Australian address, can I pick up items there? can I come vist you?
A: We keep no stock in Australia, this address is not responsible for warranty issues, if you have any problems with the PC you must return it to my Japan company (address on your invoice).
Basically the Australian company was setup to collect payments which are forwarded to my Japan company approx once a month - think of it as a bank account for for the Japan company in Australia. (as you would expect no TAX or GST is included in our prices, TAX is charged when the item reaches your country if required)
Also I live in Japan most of the year, so will not be able to assist you in Australia except via phone and email.

Q:Do you have a Zero Dead Pixel Guarantee?
A: NO, Personaly I have only seen a few LCDs with 1 or 2 dead pixels (of the many thousands of PDAs and computers we sell).
In most cases the pixels are very small, and hard to notice anyway.
There is no warranty on dead pixels (unless 8 or more in a group or line).
Having a Zero Dead Pixel Guarantee, is not good prcatice.
If Conics offered you a Zero Dead Pixel Guarantee, this would mean someone else who didn't pay extra for the "service" has a higher likelyhood of getting a dead pixel
(Conics believes this is not fair to other customers at ANY price).

Q: The drivers for the Vaio U50 / U70P / U71P are password protected, I'm not a Conics customer... can I have them?
A: The drivers are for Conics customers.

Q: My "ship to" country is different to my VISA card's country, can I still use it?
A: Sorry, this kind of transaction will be declined by our VISA card processing companies.
We recommend bank wire payment in this case.


Q: I want to order, do you have an order form?

Q: I want to cancel my order, is there a fee to do this?
A: If payment has not been made, NO.
After payment - Yes, Because our margins are small we require a 25% restocking fee on any cancelled order.

A: Sorry, we have a NO returns policy, so before you buy - please choose carefully.

Q: how do I type " " (pound key) on the Japanese internatonal keyboard?
A: The keyboard can be mapped in English XP so you press "Shift" + "3"


Q: So what's it like to type on the U1/U3?

Q: What is Paymate, What are the credit card fees?
A: Paymate is an Australian company www.paymate.com.au
Paymate charge Conics 1.7% to receive payments (retailer's fee)
Paymate charge buyers 3.5% (payed at time of transaction)

Q: How much tax will I pay when the item comes into my country?
A: I am not able to calculate this for every country,
please check with your customs website or post office.

A: Australian import taxes for Items valued at over $900 AUD are taxed at 10% + $50 clearance fees

Q: Can you send the Laptop to me in Indonesia / Nigeria?
A: Due to the large number of fraud / criminal / terrorist funding emails we receive from these countries, we will NEVER ship to Indonesia or Nigeria.

Q: I know you accept PAYPAL, but will you accept my credit card at PAYPAL?
A: Yes, but if your account is not verified, or seems suspicious for any reason, it maybe declined by PAYPAL system.
[NOTE: Bank wire transfer / Moneybookers etc are prefered, they're cheaper for you and also usually faster]

Q: What will it cost to get the Libretto L5 Extended battery?
A: Sorry, these are now no longer available

A: It's actually quite simple, here's a detailed "how-to".

Q: Can you install English Windows XP (on the notebook I buy from you) as a service for me?
A: Yes, this is a free service with every notebook computer.. (a detailed "how-to" here, you can follow)
you will need to supply a valid Windows licence key when the computer first starts.

Q: Is there a Windows XP licence key on the underside of every computer you sell?
A: Yes.

Q: I've deleted the drivers etc from the hard disk, help! how can I get them back?
A: Provide me with your customer details and you'll be able to download
the drivers from a Conics.Net server or they can be posted to you on CD-ROM


Q: When can you get the 256MB upgrade for the Libretto L1/2/3/5 or other notebooks?

Q: Do you accept COD?
A: COD is available to Australian customers only.
Also with COD extra charges/tax or customs duties may apply.
EMS is prefered, EMS is also more likely to avoid tax and import duties.

Q: Why are they so cheap?
A: The markup is lower because there is no store, so pay no store rent (only Internet costs)
we deal directly with respected Japanese retailers and distributors at discounted prices
also Japanese made goods are much cheaper purchased directly from Japan

Q: Can't I get these cheaper from Japanese stores directly?
A: in some cases I imagine it's possible, however you will need to speak Japanese and warranty returns may not be possible.

Q: I have found an item on a Japanese website, can you get this?
A: Email me the link and I'll look in to it.

Q: Can you install a bigger HDD for me?
A: Sorry, Conics doesn't offer this service now, in most cases it voids the warranty.
We can supply the HDD if you wish do install it yourself (this may void your warranty).

Q: How much will this cost me in another currency?
A: I use "Universal Currency Converter" for currency conversions

Q: With the Libretto series, can I watch "DivX DVD backup" movies?
A: Yes (ver 3.0), with 256MB they play the movie smoothly and in full wide screen - just perfect.

Q: Can you get Libretto L1/2/3/5 batteries?
A: Toshiba no longer makes these, they are not available.

Q: Can you send via economy air parcel (4-7 days) ?
A: Sorry no, this is actually more expensive than EMS from Japan
EMS is also safer and faster (UPS, FedEx or DHL are avaiable, please ask)

Q: What if my goods need warranty return?
A: Warranties are all return to Japan for the lenght stated (0, 3, 6 or 12 months or 3 years)
Postage is required, email BEFORE you return an item

Q: What tax / import duties should I pay?
A: Every country is different. Please check with your country's web-site.
EMS is used because it is more likely to avoid tax and import duties.
