Since i spend a lot of time on this, i thought i'd share how I got the
C700 to work in english, if this is covered by other posts .... well,
there's no such thing as to much information.

1. Do NOT set the locale to english, that made it impossible to get back
to e.g. the japanese help files without a restore.

1b. In case you did 1., do a system reset (open/close battery and press
OK + power), zyou willl loose ALL files in the internal storage.

2. move the directory
/home/QtPalmtop/i18n/ja
to
/home/QtPalmtop/i18n/ja.good
and recreate the original
/home/QtPalmtop/i18n/ja
directory.
this removes amm .qm files from the systen forcing the applications
to use japanese menues.

3. (this is getting messy)
copy the directory
/home/QtPalmtop/apps
to
/home/QtPalmtop/apps.good
and use vi to edit all the .desktop files in the old directory
including all subdirectories.

you have to remove all lines containing for example
Name[ja]=[a lot of unreadable characters]

this forces the zaurus to use the default english names for its
desktop icons (i also removed all other languages except english)

4. remove hancom's symlinked file as explained in another post

voila !

everything including the help browser is still working but the software
can be used in english (and no fonts are missing).

if you install software afterwards you may have to edit its .desktop
file accordingly to get the name in english.

hope this helps,

Chris
