Recommended to use the English 5600 software
with the SL-C7x0 when transfering files via USB.
Especially when the SL-C7x0 first arrives in Japanese
and you need to get Terminal onto it...

I have a better way to have English on C700.
It (this previous link to a conversion to English by Dave)
works on my B500, but there is one bad point : hancomWord is then mojibake.
Here is the solution :
Simple do this:
- open the terminal (the one with the look of a PDA, with yellow background)
- you should now have a prompt of "bash-2.05$"
- type "su" to enter superuser mode
- type "cd /home/root/Settings"
- type "vi locale.conf"
- type "i"
- change the line to "Language = en"
- press the "Cancel" key
- type ":wq"
- Press the "Q" icon at the lower left corner
- select "Reboot" and select "Yes"
- Bingo! You now have a English version of C700 !
